Closing your account or leaving a workspace
Leaving a workspace you don't own
Ask the workspace Owner (or anyone with Manage users) to remove you from Settings > Team. Your Clarify account survives; you simply lose access to that workspace. Actions you took remain in its Activity Log, attributed to you.
Deleting your account
Go to your account settings. What happens depends on whether you own any workspaces.
If you own a workspace
Your account and the workspace are tied together. Deleting your account permanently deletes every workspace you own, including all synced comments, classifications, cases, evidence, connected pages, and team access for other members. The subscription is cancelled automatically; you won't be charged again.
You'll be shown exactly which workspaces are affected and how many teammates lose access, and you must tick an acknowledgement before the button works.
Want the workspace to live on without you? Transfer ownership first: Settings > Team, transfer icon on the new owner's row. Then come back and delete your account; the workspace and your old teammates carry on untouched.
If you're only a member of workspaces
You're removed from each workspace and your account is deleted. The workspaces and their data are unaffected.
What deletion removes
- Your login, profile, and notification preferences.
- Workspaces you own, in their entirety, including the data of Facebook users captured in them.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no recovery window.
Facebook users asking for their data
If someone who commented on a connected Page asks for their data to be removed from Clarify, point them to our data deletion page, which explains the process and the limited circumstances where data is retained (for example, evidence in an active case).
